Macau Diary Day 2

The atmosphere is building in Macau as we get nearer race day. Today we started to get to work. Ok, well first I jumped in the hot tub and then had breakfast - then I was ready to get to work. I went to the race track and met all the mechanics and engineers who had just arrived the night before.

I spoke with my Engineer George and Team Boss "Boyo" about the strategy, tyres and setup for
the weekend. I took a data print out and went together with my team mate Alexander Sims in a road car, lent by the hotel, and did a few laps of the track. Macau is like no other place in the world - the circuit is, until a few hours before the first session, a normal road with a lot of crazy local Macau and Chinese drivers on it - sometimes it is more exciting to drive on it with the locals than in the race!

This afternoon we were introduced to the Chinese media by the City of Dreams hotel. It was amazing, 90 journalists came along and we had great fun. The team brought my car over just in front of the hotel and we got some pictures taken. The Presenter had a hard time because he had to translate from English to Chinese for every question and answer. I thought I should be helpful and test his memory so I gave him some long, long answers to see if he could remember it all! I should have answered in Dutch to really confuse him!

Going to bed now. You can read Wednesday's fun tomorrow.

Thanks very much for reading.
