Goodbye British F3 ...Hello Euro F3

It is better late than never for Renger van der Zande as he re-joins the F3 Euro Series this weekend in Barcelona for the remainder of the season. It means that the Dutch driver will not take part in the last round of British F3, which he also joined late! He is currently sitting in 2nd position in the Driver’s championship.

Van der Zande is no stranger to the Euro F3, having contested one round this season and having won 3 races and scoring lots of podiums before in the Series. For the remaining three races of 2009 Renger will drive for Motopark Academy.

"I am really looking forward to getting back to the F3 Euro Series, a championship that I know and have enjoyed a lot of success in," says the 23 year old.

"I have enjoyed my time in British F3. It is a great, historic series where many top drivers have won and for me to have got 3 victories and 9 podiums in total and not having done the full season, I am very happy. I want to thank Hi Tech for giving me the chance to race."

The F3 Euro Series heads to the Circuit de Catalunya this weekend, a happy hunting ground for Renger who won there in 2007 but he knows it will be a harder task this weekend.

"I drove for Motopark in Oschersleben this year and it is a great team. I hope to be back on the pace straight away but it is never easy joining a series during the season. Although I have done it once this year and I hope to achieve the same success in the last 3 rounds of the European Series"
