Renger in the lead at Rockingham as well

Renger van der Zande is once again challenging the established order at the Rockingham circuit, with an excellent second and third place on the grid for the races on Sunday. The established order’s displeasure with his performance became evident when Renger was on the way to pole, but was clearly obstructed by Marcus Ericsson, who got the pole position.

"I don’t think they like me anymore", Renger joked after the qualifying session. "They’re not pleased to see a newcomer taking over the show, but that’s their problem. I was on my way to a very first time in the second qualification session, more than enough to win pole position, when Marcus Ericsson suddenly braked in the racing line – and that was the end of the lap."

"Afterwards he didn’t deny it was deliberate, but I’m not going to make a fuss about it. Once again, we’re very fast: I’m really looking forward to the races. I hope I’ll be able to make the guys a little more sullen. In any case, we’re in an excellent starting position."
