Van der Zande has shown an incredible performance this weekend in Macau. In his second Macau Grand Prix weekend the Prema driver was well on the pace all weekend. He started the sprint race from P7 but was crashed out of the race at Turn 3. An unfortunate end where Renger could have finished on the podium.

In the second race, started from the back of the grid, Renger stayed out of trouble and worked himself through the field. In the end he finished fifth.

Van der Zande: “It's been a fantastic race. In the opening laps I managed to stay out of trouble and then managed to overtook someone almost every lap. I was absolutely on the limit and touching the walls now and then through these narrow streets. At the end of the race two drivers in front of me collided so I moved up to P5. I'm extremely pleased to finish my last F3 race with such a race, it was fantastic!”

Van der Zande is now looking forward to his GP2 debut race in Dubai. “I can't wait to travel to Dubai,” said Renger. “It should be a fantastic place and I am really looking forward to my first race in GP2.”
