Renger drives a fast second race in Barcelona
Renger van der Zande showed an impressive come-back in the second race in Barcelona. Starting from twenty-fourth place, he won back no less than twelve places in the first round, to eventually come in tenth at the finishing line.

“I drove a great catch-up race”, Renger said. “But of course, I didn’t come to Barcelona for that. The car drove very well again on Sunday, but that is simply a case of too little, too late. The car has to be fit from the first day. I had a terrific start and I could catch up with many of the guys in the first round, to drive in a fast race later. Unfortunately, I haven’t scored any points this weekend, but my immediate rivals didn’t either. I have noticed that a number of guys behind me are busy making a lot of progress, so if I want to hold on to my third place, we will have to score well in Le Mans. I am focusing completely on the race and so is the team, so let’s hope that we see a faultless weekend.”
The next race weekend takes place in two weeks.
