Renger runs riot with safety cameras in Rotterdam
Renger van der Zande brought the public to a peak of ecstasy during Bavaria City Racing in Rotterdam with demonstrations in the Mercedes SL63, which is used as safety car in the Formula 1, and in a GP2 race car from Trust Team Arden. Renger smoked the tyres of the Mercedes to the ground and tore through the streets at top speed in the GP2 car.

“Fantastic,” responded Renger afterwards. “The enthusiasm of the fans and the atmosphere in the city were unprecedented. I smoked the tyres of the Mercedes to the cords with donuts, and seeing everyone shouting in encouragement was loads of fun. With the GP2 car, I reached a top speed of nearly 250 kilometres per hour, while the guys in the Formula 1 reach 280. But still, not bad! It was a fantastic event with so many fans along the route.”
