Renger causes the Wilhelmus to sound out over the Zandvoort dunes
Renger van der Zande provided the Dutch fans in the stands at Zandvoort with a fantastic day. The Prema Powerteam driver stormed from third place on the grid straight to the lead and went on to win his home race in the most spectacular style. Renger is now third in the Formula 3 Euroseries Championship.

Dripping in champagne and grinning from ear to ear, Renger gave his account of the race. “My start was fantastic again,” he said. “Just like yesterday I immediately gained two places and had an empty track in front of me. When I looked in my mirrors, I saw the men I’d just passed fly into the wall and I thought to myself ‘this is mine’. From then on I managed to stay in the lead fairly easily, and pull away from the rest.”
“The car was fantastic, a lot better than yesterday. The team worked really hard to tune the car up, and I didn’t have to push too hard to drive a steady and fast race. It’s really great to win in front of your home crowd. I’ve said before how I want to give the fans and sponsors something to cheer about, and today I’ve done that. It’s a fantastic feeling, and this day is going to stay with me forever.”
