Renger unhappy with eleventh on grid

Qualification at Zandvoort did not go as planned for Renger van der Zande. The Prema Powerteam driver had hoped to give his home crowd something good to watch, but the day went badly from start to finish. Eleventh place in qualification probably won’t please him either.

“If you look at our speed this morning, we’ve really improved”, began Renger. “Eleventh place is not at all where we want to be. The car doesn’t run so well around this track, so it’s all too easy to try to step up the pace with the result that you only lose more time. I lost time thanks to this but it wasn’t too much. I hope that I can make up for lost ground tomorrow, like I’ve done in the past, but we’ve lost a good chance here today. It’s all part of racing, but it’s a bitter pill to swallow.”
