Renger van der Zande will take part in the 2017 Nürburgring 24 Hours. The Dutchman joins Haribo Racing and will drive a Mercedes AMG GT3. Before the legendary endurance classis, he will take part in four VLN events.
Van der Zande became second in last year’s edition of the 24 Hours. This year he will try to take the crown. Haribo Racing joined him on the podium in 2015: the experienced team finished third. They’ve created a strong line-up for the upcoming events. Van der Zande shares the Mercedes with former DTM driver Maximilian Götz, two time Nürburgring winner Uwe Alzen and Ring-specialist Lance David Arnold.
The expectations are high, told Van der Zande: “I’m really happy to drive for Haribo in the Mercedes AMG. I know that car very well. This is one of the strongest teams on the Nordschleife, especially because the fully focus on the Nürburgring. Other teams often compete in other championships but they focus just on this special circuit. I have three really fast teammates. I think I’ve shown last year with my second place that I am one of the fastest drivers on this particular circuit so we’re aiming for the victory. It’s an amazing track: every lap is very special and enjoyable!”
