Van der Zande returns to familiar territory

This weekend sees DTM travel to Oschersleben, a venue which Renger van der Zande knows only too well from previous experiences in a selection of racing machinery. The Mercedes driver is hopeful that he will again be under the spotlight this weekend. “I have done a lot of laps at Oschersleben,” said Van der Zande. “In the past I’ve raced here in Formula Renault and Formula 3, but also tested over the winter breaks. During the free practice sessions we will prepare to be run as well as possible in both qualifying and the race. We are serious about a good result. Earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz presented its new 2012 DTM car in Frankfurt – it looks really cool. I am working hard for a strong end to the season to hopefully drive it next year!”

DTM’s first practice session at Oschersleben begins at 13:55 local time (GMT +2) on Friday.
