Unfortunate incident ruins Van der Zande’s day

Renger Van der Zande was left without any reward at Oschersleben this afternoon, despite making one of his best starts of the season at the German venue. The Dutchman found himself in eighth place after the first lap, before being taken out by fellow Mercedes driver Oliver Jarvis.“What Jarvis did was rude,” explained Van der Zande. “He must have lost control, and I therefore lost a great opportunity to score some points. Anyway, this is part of racing as well. At least with my engineer James Robinson we are in good spirits ahead of Valencia, which is about two weeks away.”
