Trying weekend at Lausitzring for Van der Zande

Renger van der Zande was unable to score points in the weekend’s latest round of the DTM season at the Eurospeedway. In the fourth race of the year, the Dutch driver came home fourteenth in his Mercedes, which remains off the desired pace.“My start was good, but later in the first lap I got crowded out in the middle of the pack, so I lost some places,” said Van der Zande.
“I could have recovered with our efficient pit-stop strategy, but the speed just wasn’t there with the third set of tyres. I just couldn’t push; perhaps it was the brakes, which were not performing to their best, but we need to find out.”
“The good thing about this race is that I got a lot of DTM race miles under my belt. We now just have to take the positives from this weekend to the Norisring in two weeks’ time.”
